Acids,Bases, and Salts

How is the concentration of hydroxide ions (OH) affected when excess base is dissolved in a solution of sodium hydroxide?

The base dissociates to form hydroxide ion. The concentration of hydroxide ion increases when an excess of base is dissolved in the solution of sodium hydroxide. This is because the base added will dissociates to form more hydroxide ion. So, the total number of hydroxide ion will increase in the solution.
