Q
The Human Eye and the Colourful World

Question:

Why is a normal eye not able to see clearly the objects placed closer than 25 cm?

Answer:

A normal eye is unable to see clearly the objects placed closer than 25 cm because the ciliary muscles of eyes are unable to contract beyond a certain limit.

If we want to see an object comfortably then it must be held at about 25 cm from the eye. If it is held closer than 25 cm then the image become blurred or we may feel a strain in the eye as the focal length of the eye lens cannot be decreased below a certain minimum length.
