Identify the part which vibrates to produce sound in the following instruments.

(a) Dholak   (b) Sitar   (c) Flute 



(a) Percussion instruments are the instruments in which vibrations of a stretched animal hide produce sound. Dholak is a percussion instrument, it has stretched membrane called a head. When the head is beaten gently it vibrates and produces sound.

(b) Sitar is a stringed instrument, when the stretched string is plucked they vibrate and produce sound.

(c) Flute is a wind instrument, it uses the principle of a vibrating air column to produce sound. When air blew the air column vibrates and produce a sound.
