Q
Sound

Question:

The frequency of a source of sound is 100 Hz. How many times does it vibrate in a minute?

Answer:

We know,

Frequency = \frac{Number\ of \ oscillations}{Time}

Number\ of\ oscillations = frequency \times time

Given:

Frequency, \nu = 100\ Hz

Time, t = 1\ min = 60\ sec

Therefore,

Number of oscillations = 100\ Hz \times 60\ sec

Number of oscillations = 6000

Hence, the sound source having a frequency of 100 Hz will vibrate 6000 times in a minute.
