Physical and Chemical Changes

How would you show that setting of curd is a chemical change?

A chemical change is a change that involves a change in composition and chemical properties. These changes are irreversible and permanent that leads to the formation of a new substance.

The milk is converted into curd by Lactobacilli bacteria. When we add little amount of this bacteria to hot milk, the bacteria convert the lactose sugar present in milk into lactic acid. The curd formed has a different taste and we cannot obtain milk from the curd. So, the setting of the curd is a chemical change.
