Explain the differences between pure air and polluted air.


Pure air is the mixture of gases present in proportions that are good for living beings. It contains 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and 1% other gases like argon, carbon dioxide, etc.

When air is contaminated with unwanted substances that have a harmful effect on both the living and non-living, it is referred to as polluted air. It contains sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitric oxide etc that are harmful to living beings.
