Some Natural Phenomena

Select the correct option in Questions 1 and 2.

Which of the following cannot be charged easily by friction?

(a) A plastic scale

(b) A copper rod

(c) An inflated balloon

(d) A woollen cloth.

The correct option is:

Plastic scale, inflated balloon and a woollen cloth are charged easily whereas copper rod is a conductor, so on rubbing it, the charges start flowing across the length of the copper rod which constitutes electric current so, copper cannot be charged easily.
